EHL Kids creates a joyful pathway for children in Cairo to discover the ice, develop life-long skills, and dream in a sport that is brand new to our region. From first strides to competitive play, we surround families with world-class coaching and Cairo-inspired energy.
A development model designed for Cairo’s youth
Every EHL Kids session is crafted to make the rink feel like a second home. Our curriculum combines culture-rich storytelling, skill progression, and mindful support for families discovering hockey together.

From first glide to first Face-off
We guide every child through stage-based progressions so they can grow at their own pace. Coaches provide clear goals and celebratory milestones that keep kids motivated on and off the ice.

Discover
First-time skaters experience 6-week Learn to Play journeys with gear provided, movement games, and bilingual coaching.
- Ages 9–12
Develop
Players graduate into skill labs that focus on edge work, puck control, and teamwork through mixed-level scrimmages and video review.
- Ages 13–17
Compete
Elite prospects join academy squads representing Cairo at regional tournaments, supported by strength training and academic guidance.

The stages above are the season-long programme. If your child has never skated at all, the beginner hour is the simpler way in — the same ice, starting from standing up.
It takes newcomers of any age, which means a parent who has never skated either can be out there at the same time as their child rather than watching from the glass. There is no age cutoff on it in either direction.
The league's own session follows at 8:30 PM on the same ice, so families often stay on and watch a little of it before heading home. Message us before a first visit and we will have gear sized and ready.

Before the First skate
What age can my child start ice hockey with the EHL?
Any age. The EHL has no age cutoff for beginners, so a child who has never skated can start at the beginner hour. Young players who want to keep going join the season-long EHL Kids programme, which runs in three stages by age: Discover (ages 4–8), Develop (ages 9–12) and Compete (ages 13–17).
