League Rulebook

The ENHL experience: high-speed, skill-first, no dead air

The Egyptian National Hockey League runs on pure adrenaline. Our format is inspired by overtime hockey—just cranked up and locked in for the whole game. These are the rules that keep the pace blistering and the fans roaring.

Format essentials - A rule set built for instant offense

Traditional hockey pauses don’t apply here. By baking in overtime dynamics, we keep players attacking, goalies active, and fans on the edge of their seats from puck drop to the final shot.

3-on-3 all game long

We utilize the 3-on-3 overtime format as our full-time setup. Three skaters and a goalie per side means open ice, constant motion, and every rush feels like sudden death. (Overtime all the time, baby!)

High tempo halves

Games consist of two 8-minute halves with a running clock. The only time you will see the clock stop is for penalties or injuries—otherwise, the action never slows.

Goaltenders unleashed

Goalies can play the puck anywhere on the ice. With keepers joining breakouts or jumping into pressure, anything can happen on a single shift.

Game rules that keep the throttle open

Every call is designed to reward creativity and punish stalling. Expect quick decisions, highlight-reel attempts, and shootout theatrics the moment teams hit the ice.

  1. 01

    Penalty shots over power plays

No power plays here. Any infraction goes straight to a penalty shot, and the bench boss picks the shooter. (Someday, you’ll pick the shooter via the 3ICE app.)

  2. 02

    Shootout settles everything

There is no overtime period after regulation. If the game is tied, we launch straight into one-round shootouts until a winner is decided. (We know, it’s awesome.)

  3. 03

    Keep the puck live

If the puck hits the netting above the glass and drops back into play, we keep playing. No whistles, just more chaos. (You’re welcome.)

  4. 04

    No intentional icing

Intentionally icing the puck earns a penalty shot for the other team. A genuine play gone wrong is fine, but you cannot dump the puck to cool things down. Miss the empty net from behind center ice? That’s a penalty shot too.

  5. 05

    Half-court style turnover

Like basketball’s half-court rule, if the attacking team skates the puck out of the offensive zone and across center ice without pressure, it’s a turnover. We demand relentless action, not time-wasting.

Anything can happen

Goalies roaming to join the play, penalty shots awarded for lazy clears, and shootouts whenever the scoreboard says so—this is hockey tuned for maximum drama.

No delays, no rewinds, just pure flow

We do not allow coaches challenges or instant replay for offsides. Calls are made in the moment so the game never loses momentum. Trust the officials, trust the pace, and get ready for the next rush.
