The Egyptian Hockey League (EHL) is the official organized ice hockey league in Egypt, founded in 2021 and headquartered in Cairo. The league runs competitive seasons, player development programmes, and community outreach to grow the sport across the country, and is looking for a Web Developer to help build and maintain the digital presence that supports fans, clubs, and players.
What you'll do
- Build, maintain, and improve the league's public website, including pages for schedules, standings, stats, and news
- Implement new features and pages in collaboration with league staff and any design or content partners
- Ensure the site is fast, responsive, and works well across desktop and mobile devices
- Fix bugs, monitor site performance, and handle routine maintenance and updates
- Work with content editors to publish news, match recaps, and announcements in a timely way
- Support integrations with third-party tools such as e-commerce (merchandise store) or ticketing if needed
What we're looking for
- Solid experience building and maintaining websites, including front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and at least one modern framework
- Comfort working with back-end technologies, APIs, or a CMS to manage dynamic content such as schedules and stats
- Experience ensuring cross-browser and cross-device compatibility
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines with limited oversight
- Strong attention to detail, especially for public-facing content like scores, standings, and stats
- Good communication skills to collaborate with non-technical staff
Nice to have
- Experience with sports, media, or league/franchise websites
- Familiarity with e-commerce integrations for merchandise stores
- Interest in or knowledge of ice hockey or sports in the Middle East region
